This blog is not a representation of my professional business as a photographer. It is simply just for fun and sometimes explains how I go about capturing an image.

In this blog I post photographs and videos from my work with clients, my travels, my personal projects and just about anything I find interesting on my day to day routine. It's an inconsistent mash up of the visual mishaps and adventures of my existence.

Follow The Black Pillars

I recently was on highway 88 heading West when I saw this smoke trail in the distance. I thought, that’s not your normal leaf burning smoke, so I skipped my exit and got off where I thought would be close. It took me a bit since the roads in the area had a tendency to wind around but I eventually found the source. When I arrived there was no one there except a few people standing outside the home. I parked my car at a distance so as not to be in the way if and when firefighters and police arrived and because of that, I don’t have any really close shots.

I’m sure someone already called, but I called 911 as well. When authorities arrived they forced me to leave the area and other passer bys who stopped to look. I could have figured out a way to stay without causing too much trouble, but there was no need. Fire is a beautiful and devastating thing. I will be posting more on that elemental monster soon. More to come…
