Thanks and Givings, Good Suppers and Old Roads
Drove out west early this morning. Southwest actually, taking some old roads through old towns and old farms. The day was cold, bleak and had a look of winter. What is it the Starks always say? Winter is coming…
Dinner at my moms is always delicious, especially on holidays and celebrations. Tonight was full of turkey, dumplings, gravy, beans, pickled cabbage, sweet muffins with ginger butter, cranberry/orange spread, apple pies and pumpkin cheesecakes. I am too full, but also can’t wait to dive into leftovers.
I do not agree with the celebration of Thanksgiving due to its history, but I am thankful for friends and family. I’m thankful for the little I have when others have nothing. Life is full of ups and downs, but such is the way of these old roads. More to come…
